Health Surveillance

As a result of recent developments regarding the Covid-19 virus situation there has been new guidance from the HSE in relation to Health Surveillance. The best practice advice is that it can now be carried out as a paper/telephone exercise, and an extension of 3 months can be given for the practical elements to be completed.

We are conscious of keeping your staff safe and healthy, so we will be conducting the health surveillance as a telephone assessment. The practical elements will then be carried out in 3 months’ time at no extra cost to your company.

This way you will continue to meet your legal requirements and keep your staff safe and healthy and minimize the risk of exposure.

This Protocol is now being implemented by all Occupational Health Providers in South Wales.

Process:

• We will work to the planned schedule but your employee will now speak by telephone to our health professional as opposed to seeing them face to face.
• Please provide them with a telephone and ask them to ring a phone number (tbc) at the appointed time, where our health professional will speak to them
• All information will be in confidence
• A record form will be issued to the company showing compliance with Health and Safety Legislation
