Workare Sets The Standards That Others Follow

Workare Occupational Health, based in Bridgend is celebrating its 20th year in business in 2016. Set-up with the help of the Bridgend Economic Unit in 1996 Workare has gone from strength to strength.

‘We are really proud of our achievements’ said Lorainne Jenkins, Managing Director.  ‘We were the first in Wales to gain the SEQOHS Accreditation in 2013 followed closely with Network Rails Link up and RISQS Link-up Award a year later’.

Workare is a regular supporter of the Bridgend Business Form and attends update workshops and training sessions that the BBF arranges for local businesses.

‘Thanks to the Bridgend Business Forum we have formed associations with many local companies’ said Lorainne Jenkins. ‘The advantage we have is that we are locally based and have the ability to provide services that are tailor made for all our clients and enable them to meet their legal requirements’. Although our head office is in Bridgend we cover the whole of Wales and indeed all over the UK for clients who have bases outside of the principality. We can go on site using our mobile screening unit if the clients have no suitable accommodation. Our service is second to none due to our knowledge, experience and expertise in Occupational Health which covers anything from blood tests to height working. ‘It is our job to ensure our clients meet the statutory requirements to keep them out of health and safety gaol!’ said Lorainne Jenkins.

‘Tata Steel contracted us to provide their new starter medical assessments last summer and we carried out over a 100 in our consulting rooms in Bridgend, and also provided staff to assist them on site with their normal health surveillance. ‘

After starting as a sole trader in 1996 Loraine Jenkins said that Workare has grown steadily now employing 15 employees and associates and is a well-established Occupational Health Company with an enviable reputation. 2016 is going to be a milestone for Workare -celebrating 20 years in business with exciting new developments in the pipeline.

We could not have done this without the initial help of Bridgend Council back in 1996.
